Note: Parts not regarding Yuchun have been omitted
MBC’s new Mon-Tues drama “Ripley’s” (script by Kim Sunyoung, directed by Choi Leesup) main poster has been revealed.
In the main “Ripley” posters revealed on the 16th, you can see self-exclusion of modern individuals through the seemingly still four main characters standing mixed in with 20 extras wearing black suits. Furthermore, the extras excluding the lead cast are wearing specially-made white masks, covering their faces and not allowing [the viewer] to read their expressions, thus symbolically portraying the twofold lives of modern individuals and how one cannot know what’s really inside [such people].
The four main characters, who attended the shoot wearing lack suits lacking in personality, emphasized their individual presence by separately portraying their own characters.
Unlike Myunghoon (played by Kim Seungwoo), who runs only for his success, Park Yuchun plays Yutaka, a carefree young man who dreams of success through his own values, and thus lit up the set with a sense of presence which lights up his surroundings despite being in a crowd…. (omitted)
The staff at the set who viewed the four main character’s talented poster shooting is said to have applauded the four actors’ enthusiastic performance, commenting that “although the shooting concept could have been considered difficult, I understand the [concept] immediately when I see the photo.”
“Ripley” is set in a 21st century city hotel leading the economy and cultural and fashion markets and treats the modern individual’s work and love [in such a setting]. The drama is a traditional melodrama containing people’s greed and love in sensuous video form, and will air on the 30th at 9:55pm.
