Kim Jaejoong has become the chaeobul (T/N: term used for the family members of the heads of major companies in Korea) Cha Muwon.

In the first episode of SBS’s new drama “Protect the Boss,” Cha Muwon, Cha Jihyun (Jisung)’s cousin and rival, made his first appearance.

Cha Muwon was portrayed as as individual who had abilities that surpassed those of Cha Jihyun, who suffers from social phobia. Starting in his first appearance, Cha Muwon completed the presentation in place of Cha Jihyun, who became speechless in the middle of it. Unlike the trouble-maker Cha Jihyun, [Jaejoong’s] character is more skilled and more reliable.

Cha Muwon also played the role of Noh Eunsul (Chae Kanghee)’s Daddy-Long-Legs. During the interview for Cha Jihyun’s new secretary, Cha Muwon picked Noh Eunsul, who made a memorable remark. When Noh Eunsul asked, “why did you pick me?” Cha Muwon answered, “your boss, Cha Jihyun, is someone who can’t be taken on by a normal person.”

To his own secretary, Cha Muwon revealed his intention, “because she is so desperate, she will be more loyal to me, who picked her [for this job], than Cha Jihyun. Also, isn’t she cute,” further drawing anticipation to how the drama may unfold.

Kim Jaejoong acted out the role of Cha Muwon, who is calm, but sharp and witty, without difficulty. He received relatively good remarks in pronunciation and vocalization, areas in which most idol actors have problems with.

After the broadcast, viewers showed favorable responses through [Protect the Boss’s] message board, stating “Kim Jaejoong’s acting is more natural than I thought it would be,” “I was worried because he was acting opposite to Jisung, but he fit in well without sticking out,” and “I will look forward to Kim Jaejoong’s acting even more.”

Meanwhile, Kim Jaejoong made his debut first in Japan in 2010 through Fuji TV’s drama, “Because I can’t be Truthful.”
